Volunteers are at the heart of all that we do. WSCAH volunteers generously donated over 19,000 hours of their time annually, helping us serve over 100,000 New Yorkers. Volunteers support WSCAH by unloading deliveries, packing food, setting up, and distributing healthy food to our customers.

For Individual Volunteers

Please join us at our 86th Street Distribution Center and 180th Street Warehouse.

Volunteers for distribution shifts must be 18 or older. Volunteers for other shifts must be 16 or older.

Special Volunteerism - November 2024

Please join us at our 86th Street Distribution Center on Saturdays and Mondays, beginning Saturday, Nov. 9, for turkey and pork shoulder distribution days. These shifts are posted exclusively to WSCAH's VolunteerHub site.

We also have a number of Saturday family friendly volunteer shifts to help us pack food, beginning on Nov. 9 and continuing through the weekend before Thanksgiving. Registration will open for these shifts a week in advance.

I volunteer at WSCAH because:

“I’m helping people directly.”
A man smiles at the viewer, standing in front of WSCAH's welcome sign.

"I love being a team leader."

"It is such a good way to get involved with my community and meet like minded people."

A young, female WSCAH volunteer smiles at the viewer.

"Volunteering at WSCAH has connected me to my community."

"It has made me feel productive and introduced me to some of the kindest, most caring, supportive, funny people."
