About Us

For 45 years, West Side Campaign Against Hunger (WSCAH) has worked to ensure that all New Yorkers have access with dignity to a choice of healthy food and supportive services.

Serving over 100,000 people annually, WSCAH distributes more than 5 million pounds of healthy food from a 13,000-square-foot warehouse and community sites across NYC. We accommodate multiple needs: We ensure over 50% of the food we provide is fresh produce, and we help customers access essential benefits like SNAP.

Dignity, Community, Choice
drive our work through four key areas of action.

Each reflects our commitment to reshaping how hunger relief is approached, from providing direct services to driving systemic change.

1. Dignity Through Access

WSCAH provides equitable access to healthy food and essential services like benefits enrollment, ensuring everyone is treated with dignity and respect. We offer holistic support, connecting families to SNAP, healthcare, and other resources to address food insecurity. WSCAH works with community-based organizations throughout the city to improve local food and benefits access, creating sustainable impact through partnerships.

2. The Roundtable: Allies for Food Access

The Roundtable unites pantries, soup kitchens, and advocates across NYC to build a stronger emergency feeding system. Through information sharing, bulk purchasing, collective advocacy, and mutual support we are making a larger, collective impact, ensuring that every community has the support needed to provide healthy, dignified food access for all.

3. Advocacy for Systemic Change

WSCAH advocates for policies that improve the emergency feeding system. We work to increase resources to frontline providers such as pantries and soup kitchens, and to expand vital benefits programs such as SNAP to drive lasting change.

4. Reimagining Food Distribution

WSCAH is transforming food distribution through innovative programs like our customer-choice pantry, mobile services, and partnerships with healthcare providers. By leveraging technology and community-driven solutions, we make food distribution more efficient, equitable, and empowering for all.
